Projects, Brand Assets and editable .kruti files

Understand autosave, the local library, portable design files and browser-storage limits so your work stays recoverable.

Current-post autosave

Autosave protects one working draft in this browser. Only an explicit Save adds or updates a project in Projects.

  1. Finish the slider gesture, text edit or applied draft.
  2. Wait for the save status to confirm the committed document was saved.
  3. Reopen Kruti in the same browser profile to restore it.
  4. Download a .kruti backup before clearing browser data or moving devices.

Expected result: The same browser can restore the current post, including editable content and embedded assets.

Committed changes are saved to one recovery draft using IndexedDB. This does not accumulate project-history entries. The save status reports draft recovery, not cloud sync or an explicit project save. Reopening the same browser restores the draft; unfinished slider previews are not persisted.

Browser-local data is not a cloud backup. Clearing site storage, switching profiles, changing devices or ending private browsing can remove or separate your projects and Brand Assets. Download important .kruti originals.

Save, rename, duplicate and switch projects

Name the canvas and save it explicitly, then open Projects to rename, duplicate, reopen or delete saved work.

  1. Open Canvas size and name and enter a meaningful Name.
  2. Use Save in the header or Save project in Projects and files.
  3. Open Projects in the rail and choose a preview; edit its name or use Duplicate project as needed.
  4. When prompted before New or Open, choose Save changes, Discard changes or Cancel.

Expected result: Only work you choose to keep enters Projects. Repeated saves update the same project, even after generating new backgrounds.

Save current and create new keeps the current project before opening a blank canvas. Discard changes and create new removes the working draft without adding history; if the project was previously saved, its last explicit save remains. Cancel leaves the canvas unchanged. An unchanged new canvas needs no prompt.

Opening another project follows the same save, discard and cancel rules. Storage failures leave the current canvas open. Project identity is independent of generated background identity, so repeated saves do not create unwanted duplicates.

Projects shows previews, editable names and Duplicate, Insert, Download and Delete actions. Deleting asks for confirmation and does not delete downloaded files or other projects. The library holds up to one hundred projects.

Reusable stickers and phrase collections

Use Save artwork as reusable sticker to keep visible foreground layers, then Insert artwork to place an editable copy into another post.

  1. Finish the text, photos, cards or strokes you want to reuse.
  2. Open Projects and press Save artwork as reusable sticker.
  3. Open or start the destination post.
  4. Choose the saved entry and press Insert artwork into current canvas.

Expected result: The destination receives independent editable copies, not a flattened picture or a replacement canvas.

New sticker in Files starts a transparent canvas. You can also switch transparency in Canvas; existing background geometry remains available if you switch it back on. Background overlays remain visible.

Save artwork as reusable sticker in Projects crops visible text, photos, shapes and drawings, without the post background. Insert artwork places independent editable copies in the current canvas, scales them to fit and remaps embedded font and photo references. Layer and asset limits still apply.

The Creations page offers editable generated examples, phrase search and the same words in different looks. Opening one asks before replacing the editor draft. Text properties includes 216 phrases and a local personal collection of up to 500 unique lines. Font, color and text-shape locks keep those choices while a new look is generated; words and emoji stay unchanged.

Personal phrases use local storage, not cloud sync. Clear My phrases to remove the collection, or remove site storage through your browser. Keep a separate copy of important phrases.

Reusable Brand Assets and safe deletion

Open Brand Assets to upload fonts, logos and images together, organize brand kits and choose defaults for new content.

  1. Open Brand Assets in the tool rail, or its shortcut beside the font or photo controls.
  2. Upload licensed local fonts or images, or import a direct HTTPS Lipi font file URL in Fonts. Select Fonts or Images and logos to preview, rename or use assets.
  3. Create a brand kit and use the membership checkboxes; star its default font and add colors in Colors.
  4. Select that kit for new text, cards and projects; remove a shared asset only after confirming its removal.

Expected result: Shared assets are reusable across projects. Existing artwork keeps its embedded copies when a shared upload or brand kit is removed.

Brand Assets and kits use IndexedDB in this browser. Uploads are not automatically inserted into the current canvas. Fonts accept TTF, OTF, WOFF and WOFF2 up to 10 MB; images accept PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF and self-contained SVG up to 20 MB before processing. SVG files are rasterized to transparent PNG images, not retained as editable vector paths. The library holds up to 100 assets and 20 kits.

Kit selection changes defaults for new content, not existing layers. A project embeds independent copies of fonts and images that it uses; these copies travel inside .kruti. Removing a layer affects that project only. Removing from Brand Assets prevents future selection but does not damage saved or open projects.

Deleting a kit keeps its uploaded files. Browser storage can be cleared or evicted, so keep licensed source files and download .kruti backups. Brand kits do not currently have a separate export format.

Download and import .kruti

Download .kruti from Files for an editable backup. Import that file into Kruti to continue on another browser or device.

  1. Download the current post as a .kruti file.
  2. Keep that file somewhere independent of browser storage.
  3. To continue elsewhere, open Kruti and import the file.
  4. Confirm replacement after validation completes.

Expected result: A validated current-schema document replaces the draft only after confirmation; unsupported files are rejected.

The file controls offer Download .kruti and Import .kruti. The file contains canvas dimensions, identities, background geometry and layers, editable text, photos, cards, drawing points and embedded uploaded fonts.

Import accepts validated current-schema .kruti posts up to 60 MB. Unsupported versions and other formats are rejected, not silently migrated. PNG and JPEG outputs do not restore editable layers.

Uploaded fonts are embedded; built-in remote fonts may still need a network connection when reopening. Font and photo licensing remains your responsibility when distributing a file containing those assets.

Share an editable post

Use Share .kruti where native file sharing is supported, or download the file and attach it yourself.

  1. Save the latest committed version of the design.
  2. Open file sharing and choose Share .kruti if available.
  3. Choose the destination app, or attach a downloaded .kruti manually.
  4. Ask the recipient to import the file into Kruti rather than expecting a PNG-like preview to retain layers.

Expected result: The recipient gets an editable file containing the document and its embedded assets.

Share .kruti opens the device share sheet when file sharing is supported. It sends the actual editable file, not a public gallery link. Otherwise download the file and send it with your preferred app.

The recipient imports the .kruti file into Kruti. To send only the finished visual, share a PNG or JPEG instead. Kruti does not automatically publish to a social network.
